What A Difference A Day Makes

Today is my birthday.

34 and—God willing—counting.

Look what my dearest friends did for me…

Not to mention what my darling cousin and BFFs did for me…

Even my favorite DVD store, favorite sushi restaurant and allergy clinic sent me birthday emails and a text message.

How can I not be grateful today?

But most of all, I am grateful to be alive. I can’t stop saying “thank you Jesus”…because I don’t know what else to say. Words can never express how much I am grateful to Him. I don’t deserve to live the life I’m living right now, but God has been amazingly gracious to me that He continues to give this breath in me.

I won’t and I can’t lie that I miss my Dad most on this day. Not the presents, the party and all that, but simply him. I miss having him today; seeing that smile of his, feeling that hug, those butterfly kisses and listening to those magic words, “Happy Birthday, my princess! Daddy loves you!”

But…he’s not here anymore. He’s with Jesus and I’m sure they’re celebrating this special day of mine. So here, on earth, I’m celebrating my special day with my Mum, family and friends.

Thank you Jesus…for me.

“I will praise Thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are Thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.” – Psalm 139:14 / King James Version (KJV)
